At the end of April 2018 we cycled the North Coast 500.

I have put together a journal of how that went together with information on where we stayed, where we ate, the equipment we used, and other recommendations.

First up,  I should clarify that this was our take on the North Coast 500, rather than the published route, albeit it followed it very closely for most of the way.

We had ridden to John O’Groats (on previous separate LE to JOG rides), so we modified the north-east element of the published North Coast route to reach Dunnet Head, and then return south.

We took 7 days to complete the loop, starting on Saturday 28th April and arriving back on Inverness on Friday 4th May 2018.

Total distance covered was 858km, total ascent  10427m,  and 39 hours,  41 minutes riding in the saddle, (and too many cakes and coffees to count ! )

Checkout each days journal, together with detailed itinery, route and photos !
