Day Seven – Friday 4th May

What a great way to start they day – 32km downhill all the way from the Crask Inn to Bonar Bridge !

Of course we knew that there was to be some payback for this, and so there was.  The climb out of Bonar Bridge meant we regained the 200m or so of height in 4km !

The ride along the subsequent plateau was to be the last highpoint of our trip, as once we dropped down into Alness the route back to Inverness was reasonably flat.

Cycling on Friday afternoon meant we were careful with our route, and tried to avoid as much of the rush hour traffic as possible.

We took the route back into Inverness from the north west, passing through Muir of Ord and then turning left at Beauly.

We had our heads down for the last couple of hours of this ride, as the lure of completing the ride loomed large.

We both started to feel the onset of the bonk, and luckily we found the BadGirl Bakery,   in Muir of Ord .  Freshly made cakes, cookies and coffee did the trick, and set us up for a fun blast back to Inverness.
